“President Buhari wishes Joshua all the best in his dream fight against Tyson Fury, saying he has the prayers and goodwill of Nigerians going with him,” the statement read.
Before the ninth-round stoppage, the 31-year-old champion had twice brutally knocked down his 39-year-old challenger at The SSE Arena, Wembley, on Saturday night.
Joshua achieved the emphatic victory in front of a crowd of 1,000 people plus boxing great Floyd Mayweather.
The fight was his first since reclaiming his belts from Mexican boxer, Andy Ruiz Jr. in December 2019.
