The estranged wife of Anthony Bourdain, the CNN reporter and celebrity chef who committed suicide a few days ago has finally spoken for the first time since his death.
The pair split in 2016 but had remained amicable and hadn’t even divorced.
The two also took turns to co-parent their 11-year-old daughter Ariane.
Ottavia took to her Instagram to pen a short but moving tribute sharing a picture of the couple’s daughter on stage where she seemed to be performing a song.
She wrote: “Our little girl had her concert today. She was amazing. So strong and brave. She wore the boots you bought her,”
She added “I hope you are having a good trip, wherever you are.”
Bourdain had been the host of CNN’s ‘Parts Unknown’ where the television star usually went to places that the world knew little or nothing about and learnt and shone a light on the place’s culture, customs and general way of life.
His death brought up once more the conversation on mental health and depression as people were made to understand that having money and being wealthy aren’t cures for mental illness.

Bourdain’s suicide came on the heels of that of Kate Spade who was also a successful businesswoman but she also took her life.
