Eight days after a 70-year-old man whose name was given as David Osagie died in a hotel in Benin while making love to a married woman, a 44-year-old furniture maker, Julius Iyenakpe, allegedly slumped and died on Tuesday April 1 in another hotel during a sex romp with a woman whose identity still remains unknown.
Iyenakpe, father of three, who hailed from Agenebode, Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State, was said to have moved into his new house situated on Millar Road, Ogunmwenyi Quarters, Benin City on Sunday December 1, 2013.
According to family sources, the late Iyenakpe hurriedly left home at 9 am after refusing the breakfast prepared by his wife, but ended up in a hotel on Obanor Street, off Dumez Road, Benin City with his unknown lover.
It was gathered that on their arrival at the hotel, the man paid for one hour “short rest” but when they failed to come out of the charlet after two hours, the hotel attendant had to go into the room and discovered that the door was not locked and to his dismay found the lifeless body of the man on the floor while the lady was nowhere to be found.
It was further gatheredthat sperm was seen all over the man’s body, and a packet of sex-enhancement tablet, Viagra, was in one of his trouser pockets hung in the wardrobe.
The hotel management was said to have immediately invited the police who came to recover his lifeless body, his Toyota Pathfinder SUV, his mobile phone and a cheque of N20 million allegedly issued by one of the palm oil companies in the state.
Mrs. Iyenakpe confirmed that it was when she called her husband’s phone that a woman after inquiring if she was the wife informed her that her husband had an accident and requested her to report at Ugbekun Police Station where the news of her husband’s death was finally relayed to her.
She further revealed that she once fought her husband at a hotel in Benin City in January this year when she learned that he was there with a woman. Edo State Police Commissioner, Foluso Adebanjo, confirmed the death of the man to Saturday Independent on phone.
