A father of two has been held over the death of his lover whom he met on Facebook. The suspect, Christopher Ezekiel, left his home and family at Ibadan, Oyo State and travelled down to Lagos State to meet Adekemi Faboro, whom he met on Facebook.
Incidentally, it was the first night that Ezekiel spent with the lady that she fell sick and died within hours.
Trouble started when Adekemi started coughing profusely in the middle of the night. Her concerned neighbors who could hear her coughing came to inquire what the problem was. Seeing that she was not getting any better, they rushed her to the Ifako General Hospital in Lagos where she died.
Ezekiel was immediately arrested by policemen attached to the Pen Cinema Police station in Ogba. Her body has since been deposited at the morgue and an autopsy is expected to be conducted on her to determine the cause of her death.
Ezekiel, an engineer, married to a woman working with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, was picked up by homicide detectives as the prime suspect.
A source said: “We gathered that the deceased started coughing while they were in her home around 1am. She was rushed to the Ifako-Ijaiye General Hospital, but died.
We’re still investigating.” The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Kenneth Nwosu, confirmed the development.
