Another Dangote Truck Accident claims life of six people in Gombe

An accident occurred in Gombe state on Tuesday, which involved numerous vehicles, after a truck belonging to Dangote trucks experienced brake failure.

 

According to punch news, the truck which was carrying ceiling sheets rammed into other incoming vehicles and in the process, knocked them into a nearby canal.

 

There was an eye witness who spoke to their correspondent, he narrated how the accident occurred. He said:

“The accident happened a few minutes ago. It was the Dangote truck that started brushing an 18-seater bus, with LAG Agege 814 plate number, with three passengers and tricycles into the canal.”

There was also another survivor, who was identified as Mubarak, he told the punch of his near-death experience and how he escaped death.

He said, “After dropping passengers, I tried to take a U-turn when I saw the truck approaching. Before I could do anything the truck was about to hit me, it was then I tried to divert my tricycle to avoid been crushed,”

 

The deputy commissioner of police DCP Nasiru Mohammed, also said “Well my men said about (6) six people were confirmed dead, while over ten (10) others are receiving treatment, so far”,

 

Ii was noted that this was the third accident within six months around the same area, the first incident involved a truck conveying petroleum product to Biu, in Borno which claimed the lives of over ten people and dozens were burnt beyond recognition, and the second accident which claimed the lives of three people.

Rescue efforts are still ongoing with the help of Police, FRSC, and Red Cross.
