A building collapse has occurred on Sonuga Street, Palm Avenue, in the Mushin area of Lagos State.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) confirmed the development, stating that rescue operations were ongoing.
“A building has collapsed in Mushin few minutes ago. The rescue operation is ongoing,” Permanent Secretary, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyinyolu, said.
It could not be immediately confirmed if anyone was trapped in the rubble.
The building collapse occurred less than 20 days after a seven-storey uncompleted building came crashing down on Oba Idowu Oniru street, in the Lekki area of Lagos, killing six people.
The Oniru collapse of September 4 led to the resignation of Lagos Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr Idris Salako.
