Sequel to the continued controversy generated over the creation of Yoruba initiated security outfit, Operation Amotekun, President Buhari has received Ondo state Governor Rotimi Akeredolu in the statehouse.
It would be recalled that the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) Abubakar Malami declared the security outfit illegal, saying there was no provision for it in the Nigerian constitution.
Amotekun was created for the purpose of combatting the menace of kidnappings, banditry, robbery attacks in the southwest region.

However, the security outfit has faced a lot of backlash from Muslim groups such as Miyetti Allah Cattle herders and Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC)
Miyetti Allah and MURIC believe the security outfit would target innocent fulani herdsmen residing in the region as it is widely perceived they are the perpetrators of such crimes.
The Southwest governors have refused to backdown on the operation.
The legality of the outfit will be determined by the outcome of Akeredolu’s meeting with President Buhari in Aso Rock.
