Following the death of his father, Abdulazeez Amodu, the first son of the late former Super Eagles coach and NFF Board Member Amodu Shuaibu, has revealed that he is still in shock.
Abdulazeez, who revealed this in an interview with new website, Naij.com, remarked that his father was a great one.
Abdulazeez also confirmed that his mother is late.
He said: “It got to me this morning as I was about praying after ablution,” he started. “Someone then came and was asking after my uncle who had already gone to the mosque; I came out and was like he has gone to the mosque.
“Then he said there is an information he wants to pass. He didn’t know I was the son before he dropped the bombshell that Amodu Shuaibu is dead, when he saw my countenance, then he realised I was the son; then he told me he was coming back. I was marvelled. It is still unbelievable because he was supposed to return home today after his visit to Benin.”
“He is a great man and I thank God for his life. Just two weeks ago, he called me personally and told me that I should work hard.
“He said I should forget about his name and fame. That there is nothing in the world and that I should just be hardworking.”
“My mother is late but I have a step-mom. Shuaibu Amodu has seven children, one is in Canada while others are in Lagos.”
Amodu Shuaibu passed away in Benin at 58
