Lagos State governor, Akinwunmi Ambode has made some interesting comments about his personality after spending four years in office.
While discussing with President Muhammadu Buhari during his courtesy visit to the presidential villa on Monday, the governor mentioned that he was now wiser.
Ambode claimed that his visit was a “Thank you visit” to the president because he traveled to Lagos in April during the commissioning of some projects in the state.
The governor’s comment indirectly highlights his hurdles with his party members, especially the Lagos state faction of the All Progressive Congress which influenced his inability to retain his seat as the governor of the state for a second term.
He was voted out during the party’s primaries last year, following the heavy support given to the recently elected aspirant, Babajide Sanwoolu.
When Ambode was questioned about the things he has been able to learn during his tenure, he promptly stated, “You see, every politician learns every day.
“The fact remains that I came in as a technocrat, so I used to call myself a techno-politician. But I think I am wiser now.
“I am more of a politician than a technocrat.”
