Amazon has sacked employees who leaked customers email addresses and phone numbers. The tech giant said the action was in violation of the company’s policies.
In an email, Amazon explained to customers that it has fired an employee who leaked emails and phone numbers to a third party.
The company also states that they will support law enforcement agencies in their prosecution of the case.
“No other information related to your account was shared. This is not a result of anything you have done, and there is no need for you to take any action,” the email read to customers.
Amazon refused any media comment about a similar breach of email addresses last year but it’s good to see the company being proactive about customer protection.
Still on the subject of invading customers’ privacy and bridge of trust, Amazon said it has fired four ring employees for improperly viewing customers’ footages.
