Amazon has made an adjustment to its app icon after some people commented online that it resembled the facial hair of Adolf Hitler.
The toothbrush mustache was originally popularized by comedians like Charlie Chaplin in the early 1900s before it was forever associated with Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler.
“Someone should @amazon that a mouth with a little moustache is a big no-go…” one Twitter user commented in January.
“Amazon’s new app logo be looking like they’re the THIRD most downloaded in the “Reich” section, wrote another Twitter user, referring to the alternative name for the Nazi regime.

The company made some changes to the icon following customer feedback from its initial design before it rolled out the final design worldwide.
A spokesperson commented that “Amazon is always exploring new ways to delight our customers. We designed the new icon to spark anticipation, excitement, and joy when customers start their shopping journey on their phone, just as they do when they see our boxes on their door step.”
