Battery problem of cell phones is always a headache for cell phone users, especially in smart phones.
Whether you frequently use your cell or you put it in a deep corner of your room, battery no longer runs for more than 3 to 4 days.
Well, here’s some good news for cell phone users. Xpal Power (partners of Energizer and PowerSkin) has leveraged its battery-tech know-how into the SpareOne, a cell phone that can maintain its charge for up to 15 years on just a single AA battery.
This cell phone which was presented at a technology show at Las Vegas, operates on GSM network.
Manufacturers Xpal claim that it is suited to businesses as well as for travelers and emergencies. They also suggest it could be used for parents wishing to keep in touch with children.
Its battery is so big that it can be felt from the outside of the phone and because of this defect, this phone doesn’t look pretty.
Nevertheless, it’s a very simple phone without any camera, multimedia, radio, memory card and all the stuff that can be found in latest cell phones. This phone can only be used for incoming and outgoing calls.
It is so simple that only ten contact numbers can be saved in it and the ten buttons on the phone can be used to dial those ten numbers, means one button for one number.
Alan Cymberknoh, SpareOne Project Director at XPAL Power, claimed “SpareOne’s breakthrough technology provides an unprecedented lifeline during dire situations that require an emergency response. By operating on a single AA battery, SpareOne solves so many daily issues, serving as a simple back-up phone you can carry without worrying whether it’s charged or not.”
This phone comes with an application or service which will be used to track the phone if it is lost.
