South African hip-hop sensation, Cassper Nyovest, has boldly proclaimed that Amapiano, a unique genre originating from South Africa, has surpassed Nigeria’s afrobeats to become “the fastest growing genre in the world.”
Cassper Nyovest made this declaration during a recent interview with Beats N Sounds, emphasizing his pride in the global success of Amapiano and how it represents his home country on the international stage.
The rapper shared his excitement, stating, “Amapiano is taking over the music industry in the world. It is now the most popular and fastest growing genre.”
Highlighting the significance of Amapiano, Nyovest expressed his joy in having a genre that uniquely represents South Africa on the global music scene. He noted that, previously, afrobeats had predominantly represented Nigeria, but now Amapiano is showcasing South African culture and musical artistry to the world.
Despite the remarkable rise of Amapiano, Nyovest clarified that he has no intention of transitioning into the Amapiano trend.
