2 Min Read

With the first leg of the crucial African Cup of Nations qualifier against Egypt looming, the players are filtering into camp.

The match takes place on Friday march 25 and Nigeria will be eyeing a win. To help that cause, players like Arsenal’s teenage sensation Alex Iwobi and Chelsea midfielder, Mikel Obi have arrived the training camp in Abuja.

Super Eagles media officer Toyin Ibitoye disclosed that the foreign based players are already trooping-in into the country, adding that all invited players are expected to be in camp on Monday March 21. “Some of the players are in camp including Mikel and Iwobi but I can’t give you the exact number because many of them are on their way,” he said. “Before dinner today (March 21), we expect that all invited players would have joined the team.” Watford of England goal banger Odion Ighalo has been spotted in Lagos with former ex-international, Peter Rufai. Ighalo is said to be on his way to Abuja to meet-up with his colleagues.

The Pharaohs of Egypt are expected to arrive on Wednesday for the game. The Super Eagles are in good shape, with players like Iwobi and Ighalo doing well for their respective clubs.

The first leg encounter will hold in Kaduna on March 25, while the return leg is scheduled for Alexandria on March 29.
