Alamuwa Grammar School wins GTBank Ogun State Principals’ Cup

GTBank CEO, Segun Agbaje interacting with community leaders at a sporting event sponsored by the bank.

Alamuwa Grammar School, Adoodo, last Friday at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta, won the GTBank Ogun State Principals’ Cup after defeating Egba Owode Grammar School, via penalty shootouts.
In a very entertaining encounter, Alamuwa shoot into th lead through their prolific striker, Precious Osugbo from the penalty spot five minutes into the second half and efforts to increase the tally was met by good defensive play by Egba Owode.
But just as the centre referee was preparing to blow the final whistle,  Kuburat Olorunsogo had other ideas as she equalised for Egba Owode.

In the eventual penalty shootouts after extra time, Alamuwa won  5-4.
In the male category, a wasteful Adeola Odutola College,  Ijebu-Ode side, paid dearly for their wastefulness losing 5-3 to Remo Dvisional High School in a game the Ijebu-Ode side dominated for the better part of the encounter, but poor marksmanship robbed them of a deserved victory.

The encounter was watched by the Governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosu, his wife Olufunsho, the state deputy governor,  Segun Adesegun, the Managing Director of GTB, Segun Agbaje and othe dignitaries.
The winning schools went home with a million naira each, while the runners up got N750,000. The third and fourth placed schools got half a million naira and N250,000 respectively.
