President Muhammadu Buhari has described the death of former Governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Diepreye Alamieseseigha as a huge loss to the state and the Ijaw nation.
He made this disclosure in a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu on Monday.
The President commiserated with the people of the state over the death of their illustrious son whom they have supported through thick and thin.
“Former Governor Alamieyeseigha was well loved by his people,” he said. “This love was expressed in the way they supported him through his time in public office, and also in the way they stood by him after he left office, in good times as in bad.”
The statement also commiserated with the deceased’s family for their irreparable loss, urging them to take heart.
