Seventy-two hours after his swearing-in, the new governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has succeeded in keeping his political party members on their toes with anxiety as key appointments have yet to be made.
He hinted before his inauguration that he would appoint only nine commissioners and few advisers because of paucity of funds and this had pitched him against party members who are angling for patronage, Vanguard reports.
The governor was expected to announce at least three important appointments such as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG), the Chief of Staff, (COS), and the Chief Press Secretary, after his swearing in on Friday but has remained quiet over the matter.
The governor although under pressure was said to have insisted he wanted to take his time, as he reportedly told his close aides that it was not compulsory for him to make the appointments on the day of his inauguration.
