The first lady and wife of the Nigerian president has threatened to withdraw her support for her husband and president, Muhammadu Buhari should he fail to ‘shake things up’ within his government.
The wife of the president made this known in an interview with BBC in which she revealed that the president does not know most of the top officials he appointed.
She further noted that the president Muhammadu Buhari government has been hijacked by some people adding that these ‘few people’ were behind appointments.
Thw wife of the president, Aisha Buhari in an interview with Naziru Mikailu said: “The president does not know 45 out of 50, for example, of the people he appointed and I don’t know them either, despite being his wife of 27 years.”
She further added that those appointed into top political positions by the ‘few people’ who have hijacked Buhari’s government did not share of the vision that brought Buhari into office.
“Some people are sitting down in their homes folding their arms only for them to be called to come and head an agency or a ministerial position.”
She further hinted at the political hijackers as she said: “You will know them if you watch television.”
Speaking on the president and whether he’s in charge of his government or not, Mrs Buhari said: “That is left for the people to decide.”
She continued: “He is yet to tell me but I have decided as his wife, that if things continue like this up to 2019, I will not go out and campaign again and ask any woman to vote like I did before. I will never do it again.”
