First Lady, Aisha Buhari has returned to Nigeria after a six-month stay in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
She was reported to have departed Nigeria in September, after her daughter, Hanan, got married.
Daily Trust reported that she quietly returned on Wednesday night and was spotted at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
It was not immediately clear if her return to Nigeria was temporary or permanent.
Aisha Buhari has been an irrepressible voice since her husband became president in 2015, and bagged the ‘Woman of the Year’ 2019 at the fourth edition of Voice of Women (VOW) Conference for amplifying the voice of women in Nigeria.
Although concerns were initially raised about her whereabouts, the presidency failed to address the matter.
There were also insinuations that she fled the country as a result of growing insecurity.
Denying the insinuations, one of her aides, Kabiru Dodo said that she travelled for medical reasons.

Speaking during an engagement in Taraba in December 2020, Dodo said, “The first lady travelled for her medical trip, she did not flee the country because of insecurity.
“What people are saying is baseless and worth nothing to be considered.
“I want to tell the whole world that I do speak to her daily and she is ready to return to the country as soon as she is done with the medical treatment abroad.”
