A human rights lawyer, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa SAN, has berated the management of Air Peace, saying the airline is squandering public integrity and taking people for granted.
He said this in a Facebook post on Saturday while lamenting his terrible experience with the airline after booking an Abuja to Lagos flight.
“Somebody has to talk to Chief (Allen) Onyema (CEO of Air Peace). He’s done so much in this industry to be involved in this.
“The AirPeace boarding counter is gradually becoming a war zone. You get to the airport by 6:30am to quickly get to Lagos in order to attend to urgent matters.
“At the AirPeace ticketing counter, a guy gives you the assurance that there is an 8:30am flight to Lagos, he quickly helps you in making payment and pronto gets you a boarding pass. Before 7am, you have checked in and awaiting boarding. 8am no sign, 8:30am no hint.
“As passengers got agitated, then a husky voice from a loudspeaker is explaining how much AirPeace has tried to accommodate all passengers this morning but they had issues since 5pm yesterday that’s making it impossible to fly to Lagos!” Adegboruwa said.
He queried why the airline went ahead to sell tickets the next morning.
“You can’t have an airline run in this manner squandering so much public integrity and taking people for granted all the time.
“There is no assurance of leaving Abuja at any time and there is no excuse or explanation for this clear case of fraud.
“I do sincerely urge the Hon Minister @ Festus Keyamo to look into this and other inexcusable cases of flight delays and cancellations as it is not peculiar to AirPeace,” Adegboruwa said.
