The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar has declared that the force will keep up its aerial bombardment of the Boko Haram stronghold of Sambisa Forest.

He made this promise on Monday in Yola, Adamawa while on an inspection tour of two newly-acquired aircraft at the Air Wing of the 75 Strike Force.

Air Marshal Abubakar stated that the force will only back down when the insurgents have been completely annihilated.

Furthermore, he affirmed that the new aircraft will boost the morale of the men of the force in the country’s fight against the insurgents.

He appealed to the civilian populace to assist the military in the counter-terrorism campaign by providing any information at their disposal that can lead to the defeat of the terrorists, stating that no country can successfully overcome terrorism without the active input of the people.

“Whatever intelligence report the people have will go a long way in assisting the military to Identify where the criminals are hiding because at times the terrain is too difficult for our military to easily penetrate.

“It is also difficult for an aircraft to identify a 13 year-old girl carrying explosives except the people around her,” Abubakar stressed.
