Captain of the Super Eagles, Ahmed Musa has apologised to Nigerians over the team’s draw with Sierra Leone.
In the game played in Benin City, Edo State on Friday, the Super Eagles threw away a 4-0 lead to end the AFCON 2021 qualification game in a stalemate.
Musa apologised on behalf of his colleagues in a video released shortly after the game.
“On behalf of myself and my teammates, we’re really, really sorry for the disappointment of the game tonight.
“We know we made a very big mistake in the game – there’s nothing we could do. That’s football; sometimes you win, sometimes you lose
“But we’re going to correct our mistakes in the next game, Insha Allah.
“We’re going there to see that we qualify for the AFCON. We know that we can do it,” Ahmed Musa said.
