Some Nigerians have taken to social media to react to the bench warrant issued by the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) against suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen.
Onnoghen is being tried by the tribunal over non-declaration of asset.
Presiding over a three-man panel, CCT Chairman, Danladi Umar ordered the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services (DSS) to produce Onnoghen before the tribunal on Friday after he refused to appear before it to take his plea.
However, some Nigerians, including former NBA President, Dr Olisa Agbakoba, have taken to Twitter to react to the order.

1/2 I am shocked that the CCT will issue a Bench warrant for the arrest of Hon. Justice Walter Onnoghen, knowing full well that its jurisdiction to try the case has been challenged and the Application on the challenge is on the CCT docket, and no hearing has occurred.

2/2 The CCT is aware that there is now before the NJC, a petition against #Onnoghen on exactly the same charges at the CCT. The CCT ought to await the outcome of the pending matters in the NJC, Appeal Court and FHC. The conduct of the CCT subverts the Rule of Law & due process.

Information reaching me now suggests that Bayo Ojo led a team to Onnoghen’s house by 11pm to force him to sign a resignation or risk arrest this morning cos PMB wants the resignation b4 Friday. I hear that there is plan to arrest and forge his signature in a resignation letter.

They are looking for High Court Judge to stop CCT order of arrest knowing fully that CCT and High Court are court of coordinate jurisdiction. Try and work on Appeal Court Judge also too. It will fail. D power of CCT is non -negotiable. Onnoghen should appear
