The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State in 2015 and 2019, Jimi Agbaje, says he has yet to call time on his political career.
He stated this on Tuesday during an appearance on Arise TV‘s flagship programme, The Morning Show.
Agbaje said he remained in active politics but his running for public office “is not at all cost”.
“I remain in politics. My running for office is not at all cost. What role I will play is still very unclear but I believe I have a role to play in the politics of our country and of Lagos State,” the pharmacist-cum-politician said.

He advised the PDP to close ranks to put up better performances in future elections.
Agbaje, however, said he was not sure in what capacity he would be participating in the next election.
“In what capacity, I believe time and event will tell. But I won’t stand here and tell you Jimi Agbaje is running for governor because it is not even on the table. But in any case, you’ve got to get the party in proper shape to be able to run an election and I’m not sure the party is in the right shape now,” he said.
Akinwunmi Ambode and Babajide Sanwo-Olu, both of the All Progressives Congress (APC), defeated Agbaje in 2015 and 2019 respectively.
