DR Congo finished their Africa Cup of Nations in third place, after they beat hosts Equatorial Guinea 4-2 on penalties on Saturday.
It was indeed a forgettable 90 minutes, with few chances created and no goals.
Equatorial Guinea were beaten 3-0 in their semi-final clash with Ghana – a game which was overshadowed by crowd trouble and has to be put on hold for over 30 minutes.
DR Congo gave Ivory Coast better competition in their own semi-final, before they eventually lost 3-1 to Herve Renard’s team.
Javier Balboa and Raul Fabiani missed for the home team, before Cedric Mongongu netted the decisive penalty for the Congolese.
