He said that the new leadership of AFAN under Alhaji Faruk Rabiu-Mudi, since inception, embarked on partnerships with major stakeholders to enhance farming.
According to him, the Minister of Agriculture, Alhaji Sabo Nanono, recently directed the distribution of the tractors in Kano State, out of which 10 were allocated to Zamfara.
“We are working hard to ensure that we brought the vehicles to the state for the benefit of our farmers,” he said.
He said that the association was partnering with the Federal Ministry of Water Resources to support about 15,000 irrigation farmers in the state under Bakalori Irrigation Scheme.
He commended the programmes initiated by the Zamfara Government to boost farming.
“As a major farmers’ association, we are ready to work with all stakeholders to encourage farmers to participate in farming activities across all the commodities,” he added.
He appealed to farmers in the state to participate in all farming programmes initiated by the Federal Government in order to benefit from government support for farmers.
