Grammy award winning British musician Adele was interviewed recently on The Radio 1 Breakfast Show with Nick Grimshaw and she talked about the nerves behind her comeback and debuted her new single for the first time in full.
The 27 year old singer whose new single, Hello was teased as a clip during the recent episode of X Factor also said she was worried how it was going to go.
‘I full on started panicking when I woke up on Sunday,’ she told Grimshaw. ‘I’ve been planning it [the teaser], for a while and I was nervous. I was just relieved that nothing has to be a secret anymore. They played it after a pizza advert… typical,’ she laughed.
‘I don’t remember how it felt. It went quiet in my house. I thought everyone would think it was a John Lewis advert. Then I went on Twitter. I’ve lost my password so I looked on my browser and I could only see three tweets, so I thought that’s it, I’ve missed my window. Then my boyfriend said there’s loads.’
She also added that: ‘I want to surprise people. I’ve had nothing to say so why am I going to say anything. Every album is always going to follow 21, so I can’t include it in any expectations of anything I do again.’
Talking about her past success, Adele told the host: ‘I obviously have an ego, so the fact it did well, that fed my ego,’ before adding: ‘Gah! It was phenomenal, a big part of my life.’
Following the playing of the single, she also revealed that she might consider doing a worldwide tour to promote the new album titled 25, but said she hadn’t yet made up her mind as it can be ‘lonely.’
