Murphy Afolabi’s untimely demise occurred as a result of a fatal accident in his bathroom. As he was laid to rest, he left behind a legacy, survived by his loving wives and children. It was revealed that Adekola had spoken to Murphy a mere thirty minutes before his tragic demise.
Speaking in Yoruba, Adekola expressed, “When he was alive, he always emphasized the importance of togetherness. Although we cannot question God’s will, I am truly touched by this devastating loss. Murphy was still young, and we embarked on our acting journeys together. I even directed his first movie, and he was the one who discovered my acting talent. We have shared countless experiences, from joyful collaborations to conflicts that we eventually resolved. I know everything about him.“
Adekola then revealed the chilling details of their last conversation. “We still spoke yesterday, we spoke around 9:30, and he fell around 10 am. I was called immediately, and we drove him to the hospital, but he died before we got there.“

Recounting their recent interaction, Adekola disclosed, “He called me after his birthday and asked me to come and take some of the clothes he used for his birthday shoot. I told him not to worry, but I didn’t know he was passing a message across to me.“
He further added, “Yesterday, he sent money for a contribution we always have on Sundays. He sent it early, and I questioned his choice to send it early. His response was that we don’t know what will happen the next day or in the next minute. I didn’t know he was bidding me farewell.“
