COVID-19: I’ll keep laying hands on the sick – Pastor Adeboye

Adeboye

The General Overseer, The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, says social distancing regulations will not prevent him from laying hands on the sick to help them get healed.

He spoke in apparent reaction to criticisms generated last week when he laid hands on some bedridden persons to pray for them.

The respected cleric, who spoke Sunday at the church’s National Headquarters in the Ebute-Meta area of Lagos State, however urged his members to obey all COVID-19 protocols put in place by government and health authorities.

Donning a face shield while preaching on the topic, “Divine Lifting”, Adeboye advised members not to be afraid of the virus but obey all the regulations as stipulated.

“I want you to relax but don’t be careless. When I say relax, I do not say be careless. I hope you know the difference between the two.

“When they say wear your mask, wear your mask. When they say wash your hands, wash your hands. You know we are very particular about hygiene. Even when corona is gone, keep on washing your hands,” Adeboye stated.

Explaining that social distancing regulations would not prevent him praying for the sick by laying of hands, the 78-year-old cleric said, “When they talk about social distancing, do that as much as possible. Obey the government.

“But I can’t distance myself from my wife and I am not going to allow social distancing prevent me from laying hands on the sick so that they can recover – that is my duty and I will do it.”
