Disgraced former Sunderland footballer, Adam Johnson has been sentenced to six years in jail for sexual activity with a minor.
The winger was sentenced by a Bradford Crown Court on Thursday afternoon after previously admitting to grooming the 15-year-old and one count of sexual activity.
The convict was ordered to pay £50,000 of the £67,132 incurred as costs by the prosecution while the case lasted.
Earlier in the day, Johnson was seen running into the court for his sentencing, a move that was believed to be aimed at avoiding journalists’ cameras.
At the sentencing, the judge said he “showed no remose” and that his action was “deliberate”.
