Renowned Nollywood actress, Laide Bakare, has publicly accused the Nigeria police of brutality in a viral Instagram post on Sunday.
Bakare detailed an incident that occurred on Saturday along the Ikorodu Expressway, where she claimed to have witnessed firsthand the harsh treatment of Nigerians by the police.
“For the first time, I experienced the brutal way Nigerians are being treated along that axis,” Bakare wrote. She recounted how her car was driven away with her minor daughter inside, leaving the child terrified.
The actress alleged that the police specifically targeted luxury vehicles and vulnerable individuals to exploit and rob, demanding ATM cards to withdraw money. “They needed our ATM card to take out N70,000,” she claimed.
