Teen actress Angel Unigwe has initiated legal proceedings against veteran actor Kanayo O Kanayo, following allegations of a contract breach.
On June 21, 2024, Kanayo publicly accused Angel on social media of failing to honor a contract for a production. He also claimed that Angel’s mother, Juliet Kings Unigwe, has a history of prematurely removing her daughter from film sets, breaching contractual agreements.
Kanayo further threatened to disrupt any future movie productions involving Angel.
In response, Juliet Kings Unigwe issued a statement on Angel’s Instagram page on Wednesday, vehemently denying the allegations. “We categorically state that we honor all contractual terms and are committed to fulfilling our lawful obligations. The accusations made by Mr. Kanayo are false and slanderous,” she said.
Juliet also confirmed that legal action has been taken and called on security agencies to ensure Angel’s safety.
