Several people marched out today to show their dissatisfaction at the Government for placing a ban on abortion.
Thousands took to the street of Dublin to mount pressure on the Irish Government to reverse its move and hold a referendum to repeal restrictive abortion laws.
Ireland which has been in a heated argument over abortion for years lifted the strict ban on abortion in 2013 to allow the termination of pregnancy in cases where the mother’s life is in danger.
The strict Catholic country which was forced by popular vote to become the first country to adopt gay marriage witnessed the massive protest with placards reading ‘My Body, My Choice’ and other writing.
Speaking on the protest, 42-year-old Sal Roche, a protester said: ‘It’s a woman’s right to choose and it is ridiculous to say that anybody else, the state or the church, has to right to tell that woman what happens to her body.”
