Another ‘baby factory’ was recently uncovered in Abia state.
The alleged hospital housing young women with unwanted pregnancy was raided by The Abia State Police Command and four pregnant young women, among whom was one with a two year old baby, were rescued from the hospital.
The medical director of the hospital fled the scene as at the time of the raid, leaving two nurses at the hands of the police officers.
The Police P.R. Officer, Geoffrey Ogbonna , who disclosed details of the raid operation, said, they are now in trail of the director, whom he refused to identify.
According to him, The Command had earlier been informed that the hospital were delivering young women of unwanted pregnancy and selling the babies to willing buyers for a fortune.
The Police Command paraded the four inmates (women) and two nurses and announced that they are up to the task of discovering more baby factories.
He warned perpetrators to desist from the act or risk facing severe punishment.
