A disturbing video has surfaced showing Alex Ikwechegh, a member of the House of Representatives, physically and verbally assaulting a Bolt driver in his Maitama, Abuja residence.
The driver, who remains unnamed, delivered a package to Ikwechegh’s home and was met with aggression when he asked the politician to collect the package outside. Ikwechegh repeatedly slapped and insulted the driver, boasting that he could make him “disappear” without consequences.
“I can make this man disappear in the whole of Nigeria and nothing will happen,” Ikwechegh said in the video.
The incident has sparked widespread condemnation, highlighting concerns about abuse of power and mistreatment of ordinary citizens by those in positions of authority.
Ikwechegh, representing Aba North & South Federal Constituency (APGA), has faced previous controversies, including allegations of certificate forgery against his opponent, Emeka Nnamani, in the 2023 election.
The National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sacked Nnamani and issued a certificate of return to Ikwechegh, who denied allegations of certificate forgery.
