The Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar (rtd)-led National Peace Committee on Friday met President Muhammadu Buhari a day after meeting presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
The meeting held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
According to Abdulsalami, who addressed journalists shortly after the conclusion of the meeting around 4pm, the committee presented Atiku’s grievances to Buhari.
Recall that Atiku, who met the committee on Thursday alongside his running mate Peter Obi, had demanded among other things that Buhari’s presidency must lift the freezing of the accounts of top PDP chieftains and demilitarise subsequent elections as part of conditionalities for peace to reign.

Other members of the committee at the meeting with Buhari were former President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Cardinal John Onaiyekan and the Bishop of Sokoto Catholic Diocese, Hassan Matthew Kukah.
