Wives of Nasarawa state commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy affairs, Hajia Rabi Aliyu and Hajia Larai Aliyu, who were abducted have regained their freedom.
Spokesman of the state police command DPS Kenedy Idrissu on Sunday in Lafia said the women were released by their kidnappers at about 11pm on Saturday at Mararaba-Udege village in Nasarawa town.
He said the victims were unhurt and had reunited with their families. He also said no ransom was paid.
According to Idrissu, no arrest has been made but investigations have begun to find those behind the abduction.
The wives of Aliyu Tijani, the Nasarawa state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, were kidnapped on Thursday at their residence and a ransom of N50million was demanded for their release.
