The Enugu State Auditor allegedly abducted on Saturday last week by Fulani herdsmen along the Nsukka- Adani highway has been released.
The abducted auditor, Ogbobe Stephen, was released after a sum of N700,000 was paid as ransom according to news agency, Vanguard.
The ransom was reported to have been paid at a designated place in Amokwu community, Udi local government area of Enugu state.
Recall that the abductors had initially demanded the sum of N5 million in ransom on Sunday which was then reduced to N1.5 million on Monday before agreeing to the sum of N700,000 to secure the release of the auditor.
