No fewer than 17 persons were reported dead in a ghastly motor accident that occurred along Ile- Ife-Ilesha expressway of Osun State.
The accident reportedly left other occupants of the two vehicles in a state of agony as many of them sustained various degree of injuries.
Six male adults, seven children and four female adults lost their lives in the accident.
Two vehicles, a Siena bus and a hummer bus were involved in the accident.
It was gathered that those who sustained various degrees of injuries were taken to a nearby hospital by officials of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) who reportedly acted promptly when hinted about the development.
Meanwhile, the remains of those who lost their lives in the accident were said to have been deposited in the same hospital where the wounded ones are being attended to.
Speaking with newsmen on the development, the FRSC unit commander, Ile-Ife, Mr. Richard Adetoro confirmed the incident.
Adetoro hinted that the remains of those that gave up the ghost had been deposited at the Obafemi Awolowo Teaching Hospital Complex, Ile-Ife while those who sustained injuries are equally being attended to.
He also confirmed that six male adults, seven children and four female adults gave up the ghost in the accident.
