Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard is in demand from an unlikely source – ex-Everton and Manchester United boss David Moyes.
Despite previously managing Liverpool’s two arch-rivals, Real Sociedad boss Moyes believes the 34-year-old would be an ideal acquisition when he leaves Anfield at the end of the season.
“He has had a great career for his club and for England and he will be very difficult to replace. If he ever wanted to come to play in Spain he knows he can phone me,” Moyes said.
However, Moyes has missed out on his man, with Gerrard confirming on Saturday morning that he will move to the USA when his contract expires in summer. He is expected to sign for David Beckham’s former club LA Galaxy.
Ronald Koeman had already said that he would sign Gerrard for Southampton if he changed his mind and opted to stay in England.
