Liverpool have identified Lille goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama as a potential solution to the goalkeeping crisis that has engulfed Anfield this season, reports the Guardian, with the Reds lining up a £4 million move to bring the Nigerian international stopper to the club in the January transfer window.
Enyeama will also be available during the whole of January after his side’s disappointing failure to qualify for the African Nations Cup, a trophy that the Super Eagles actually hold, whilst Lille’s struggles in Ligue 1 could also persuade him to move on.
At 32, Enyeama is not a long term option for the Reds between the sticks, but he should certainly represent an upgrade on error prone duo Simon Mignolet and Brad Jones.
