Jose Mourinho has admitted that Chelsea striker John Terry is still as effective as he was in 2004 when the coach managed the club.
Terry scored the opener in Chelsea’s 2 – 0 victory over West Ham united on Boxing day as the club stayed clear on top of the EPL table.
“He’s full of confidence. I see my John of 2004, 05, 06. I don’t see any difference,” Mourinho said.
“I only see a difference when his twins are on the training
ground. They were born in that period and now they are running and kicking balls.”
John Terry led Chelsea to the Premier League title in 2005 and a title defence the following season. He is notably one of Chelsea’s most valued players.
Chelsea meets fourth-placed Southampton today, 28th of December, then they’ll travel to Tottenham on New year’s day.
