Daniel Sturridge has suffered another injury set back to dent Liverpool’s hopes of resurrecting their season.
Sturridge broke down in training yet again with a recurrence of a thigh problem which has bothered him for most of the campaign.
He is expected to have a scan on Wednesday to discover the extent of the damage.
The striker pulled out of a session at Melwood and now Brendan Rodgers has to wait for the results of the scan amid fears that his striker may be out until the New Year.
Rodgers had pencilled Sturridge to make a comeback at Crystal Palace on Sunday and has now been forced to review his plans.
Liverpool have missed Sturridge this season, scoring only 14 goals during this campaign compared to their form last season.
Their poor form has left them at 11th in the Premier League and also face elimination from the Champions League.
