Manchester United have struggled this season, adapting to a new style of play and a new coach.
It has affected their match results which are no where near expectations.
The club have also been hit by injuries recently and affected it’s defence strength.
Michael Carrick, who have been sidelined since the start of the season, made his first appearance for the club in their defeat to Manchester City.
Carrick substituted Januzaj after Chris Smalling was sent off.
The England international who is a strong midfield player was placed on defence.
“It’s obviously not somewhere I have played a lot,” he said.
“Over the years I have had spells there, but I am just whatever needs be… if I need to play there then fine. I have not had enough football recently so I will play anywhere.
“We have a lot of variety. Now we just need to get players fit so we have more options to choose from. I will play anywhere, I don’t mind.”
Carrick admitted to feeling bad about their defeat to Man City.
“We felt we deserved more,” he said. ” But we are experienced enough to know points is what you are judged on. It’s alright me coming here and saying we feel good and positive, but it’s up to us in the weeks ahead before Christmas to have a good push and get ourselves back up there again.”
He still believes that, although, they are currently 10th on the EPL table, they still have what it takes to improve play and earn better results in the nearest future.
He said: “We certainly believe that we are still going to have a good year, a good season, it’s just little things that aren’t going for us and we are making little errors but overall the feeling is that we are still building to be successful and we will be, it’s just frustrating at this minute.
“At this minute with the points total it’s not a great start but I think the feeling is better than that really and hopefully we can show that in the time being”
