According to the Mirror, a bitter feud between Sergio Aguero and Marcos Rojo has erupted ahead of the Manchester derby.
The Ardentina stars come face to face at the Ethiad with three points at stake and an old score to settle.
The feud, involving Aguero’s girlfriend, was the reason why the player pulled out of a kids’ coaching session alongside United defender Rojo on Friday in the East Manchester district of Ardwick as part of the Premier League kick initiative.
City officials were surprised to hear that their star striker refused to attend last minute claiming that he had to pick up family members from the airport.
“Where is Sergio? asked Rojo, before adding: “Perhaps he is a little scared.”
The problem between the two started when Rojo invited he ex-husband of Aguero’s girlfriend, Karina Tejeda, into Argentina’s dressing room to celebrate their World Cup win over Nigeria.
Aguero started dating Tejeda after his two year marriage to Maradona’s daughter Giannina broke down.
But he flew into a rage with Rojo when his girlfriend’s former husband – another Argentine pop star called Ezequiel “el Polaco” Cwirkaluk – appeared in the dressing room after the victory in Port Alegre.
Aguero had to be dragged away from Cwirkaluk by team-mates before angrily squaring up to Rojo.
And the hostility between the City striker and United’s new £16million centre-back became such a concern that Argentine officials were forced to step in to restore the peace.
Rojo said he would mark Aguero in the match “with a degree of firmness.”
