Arsenal is now faced with a critical situation and possible a deficiency in their line-up as reports confirms that German International Mesut Ozil will not be fit to play for the next 12 weeks as a result of a knee Injury.
The winger, after Arsenal’s last game against Chelsea, in which, he struggled to complete 90 minutes with a knee injury he picked up during the match, joined the German national team who were to play Poland and the Republic of Ireland in Euro 2016 qualifiers.
On arrival at his native country, he went for an MRI scan to confirm the severity of the injury.
A statement on the German Football Association website read:
“The MRI examination today at National Dr. Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfahrt in Munich revealed a partial rupture of the outer band of the left knee joint.
“The treatment is conservative, with six weeks of immobilisation of the knee joint. Mesut Ozil is likely to be (out for) 10 to 12 weeks.”
Aaron Ramsey, Mikel Arteta, Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud are also out on injury, this is obviously a big blow to the Gunners, considering they are faced with upcoming tough matches in the EPL.
Unconfirmed reports claims Arsene Wenger is going in for a replacement for Ozil.
