Cristiano Ronaldo has responded to that banner asking him to come home – by declaring himself happy at Real Madrid.
A Manchester United supporters’ group paid for a plane to fly over El Madrigal during Los Blancos’ recent match against Villareal, with a banner trailing declaring “Come home Ronaldo.”
There have been reports of the reigning World Footballer of the year is unsettled at the Santiago Bernabeu, but the Madrid star decided to put rumours to rest.
Asked about the plane by Gazetta dello Sport, Ronaldo responded: “How could I not see that plane? It flew past 10 times.”
“I always said that I have a family to Manchester but I’m good in Madrid.
“I’m glad of the affection that United fans have for me, it means that I have left good memories.”
Ronaldo has started the season with a blast scoring 14 goals in 10 appearances for Ancelotti’s side.
He is currently 56 goals away from becoming Madrid’s highest goal scorer, a record currently held by Real Madrid Legend Raul.
