Kenny Ogungbe Clears the Air on Plantashun Boiz’s Split

1 Min Read

Renowned music executive and CEO of Kennis Music, Kenny Ogungbe, has addressed the long-standing rumor that he was responsible for the breakup of Plantashun Boiz. In a recent episode of The Honest Bunch podcast, Ogungbe, also known as Baba Keke, set the record straight.

According to Ogungbe, the group had already disbanded when 2Face approached him for assistance. He revealed that Eedris Abdulkareem encouraged him to sign 2Face to Kennis Music, which he eventually did.

Ogungbe’s clarification puts to rest the speculation that his involvement with 2Face led to the demise of Plantashun Boiz. The group, comprising 2Face, Blackface, and Faze, initially split in 2004 but briefly reunited in 2007 for a third album, “Plan B,” before parting ways again.
