Nigerian singer, Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington, has been arrested again by the Nigeria Police Force, just two months after his previous release.
According to his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, Speed Darlington was taken into custody in Owerri while performing at a show, upon his return to Nigeria.
This is the second time the singer has been arrested in recent months. His previous arrest occurred on October 4, after he allegedly mocked his colleague Burna Boy’s association with American rapper Diddy in a contentious video. He spent five days in detention before being released on bail on October 9.
Efforts to reach the Nigeria Police Force for comment on the latest arrest proved abortive, as the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, did not respond to calls.
