Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has sparked confusion and debate among his followers with a recent Instagram post about the term “ogbanje.”
In the post, Edochie claimed that individuals referred to as “ogbanje” are spiritually gifted, but often struggle to accept their true nature due to societal pressures.
“Many people we call ‘Ogbanje’ are people who are spiritually gifted,” Edochie wrote. “And the essence of having such spiritual gift is to use it to help humanity. But because of ignorance, religion & the fear of what people will say, they keep trying to run away from who they are and by doing so their lives become messed up.”
However, Edochie’s followers were quick to point out the apparent inconsistency between his post and his earlier announcement of launching an online ministry, True Salvation Ministry, in January 2024.
The actor’s fans took to the comments section to express their confusion, with some asking if he had abandoned his ministry.
Edochie’s post has generated mixed reactions, with some supporting his views on spirituality and others criticizing his sudden shift in focus.
